CAMERON — Funeral services for Clyde Wallace, 71, of Temple were held Friday, May 1, 2009, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Jim Lafferty and Rev. Leroy Kemp officiating. Burial followed in Walkers Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Wallace died Tuesday, April 28, in a Temple hospital.

He was born Feb. 16, 1938, in Cameron to George W. and Esther Josephine (Aikman) Wallace.

Mr. Wallace was a 1956 C.H. Yoe High School graduate.

He married Virginia Reichert on Dec. 10, 1965, in Cameron.

Mr. Wallace was a member of First Baptist Church in Salado.

He worked for Mobil Oil Co. in Cameron until he and his family moved to Temple in 1978. He managed two fast-food restaurants from 1978 to 1983 and he also worked for Tem-Tex Solvents Chemical Co. in Temple for 21 years, retiring as plant manager in December 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Wallace of Temple; a son, Weldon C. Wallace of New Braunfels; a daughter, Shirley V. Hoelscher and husband Jason of Cyclone; a brother, Delma B. Stone of Mobile, Alabama; and three grandchildren, Danielle Wallace, Michael Wallace and Jennifer Hoelscher.
