Willie Mae Smith, 70, of Lake Charles died at 2:36 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2009 in her residence. Mrs. Smith was a native and life long resident of Lake Charles. Her passion in life was taking care of her family. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Ethel Mae Pierce and Sissy Lemons of Bell City; two sons, Joe Morvant of Lacassine and Carl Wayne Morvant of Lake Charles; four brothers, Newton Abshire of Elton, Nolan Abshire of Iowa, Adam Abshire of Kansas, and Johnny Abshire of Merryville; one sister, Emma Jean O'Blanc of Elton; six granddaughters; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery.
