The Semi-Weekly Democrat - Thursday , July 16th, 1908 - After a long spell of sickness and many days of patient suffering, Mrs. T. Knapp breathed her last at 10 o'clock on Tuesday night, July 14, 1908. She had been so long close to death's door that her passing was fully expected and in fact the end came as a blessing to mind and body.
The funeral will occur tomorrow, Friday morning, solemn high mass services being held at the Church of Immaculate Conception at 9 o'clock.
The deceased, Catherine A Dwyer, was born in New Lisbon, Wis., Oct. 25, 1862. She was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Dwyer of Sheridan township. The family came from Escanaba, Mich., to Cherokee county in 1874.
The deceased was united in marriage with Chas. T. Knapp July 16, 1882. Five children were born to them, four daughters and one son, the eldest now 18 years of age and the youngest about 5 years.
Besides the parents, husband and children, five brothers and six sisters are left to mourn. They are: Michael, Thomas and James, who are at home, John, who is a professor in the law department at Ann Arbor, Mich, Mrs. Mary Moothart, of Primghar, Mrs. Lillie Metzer, of Marcus, Mrs D.R. Perrin, of Cherokee, Sister Clara of St. Vincent hospital, Sioux City, Theresa and
Stella, who are at home.
