Conrad was the eldest of three children born to Herman William Gustav Risch and Caroline Fredericks Risch. I am Conrad's great grandniece. He served from Minnesota in the 13th Unit (Companies G&H) in the Spanish American War. Conrad worked as a printer at first, which was the trade of his father and many of his relations. He found working as an electrician much more to his liking. On November 7, 1907 he married Evangeline True Bailey in Tacoma Washington. They lived in Minnesota and had four children: Conrad, Gertrude Annette, Constance Elaine and Evangaline True. Conrad lived the later part of his life in the Pacific Branch of the National Military Home in Los Angeles County.
