IRVINE - Travis Edward Bingham, 66, of Irvine, died March 31, 2007 at his home after a short illness. The son of the late Everett and Grace Bingham, he was born in Estill County on Sept 14, 1940. Travis is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Faye Fox Bingham, his son Travis Edward Jr. of Irvine, his daughter Sherri Lynn Bingham (Richard) Burkhead of Georgetown. He also leaves behind six grandchildren who loved and adored their papaw, Edward Jay Bingham. Whom he helped raise and mentor, Joshua Andrew Bingham, Madison Leigh Bingham, Tiffani Lane Burkhead, Richard Matthew Burkhead, and Boone Travis Burkhead, his namesake. The lord also blessed him with one great-grandson, who also carries his great-granpaw's name, Jayden Edward Bingham. He is survived by one brother, James (Pauline) Bingham of Irvine and many nieces and nephews who all loved heir uncle Travis. He graduated from Estill County High School and Lafayette Technical School, served in the U. S. Army, retired from IBM Corp. with thirty years service. To stay busy after retirement, Travis operated a tool and die shop, farmed and raised cattle for a hobby. Travis was a member of the Baptist Church and loved the Lord. Even in sickness, his faith never faltered. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1pm, Tue at Lewis Funeral Home, with Bro. Bill VanWinkle officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5:30 pm, Mon. Burial will be in South Irvine Cemetery. Pall Bearers: his grandsons; Jay and Josh Bingham, his nephews; James Bingham Jr., Dewayne Bingham and Curt McMaine and his two brothers-in-law; Michael and Stanley Fox.
