GEORGETOWN - Mary Fern Bourne Bacon, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 3, 2004. She was born April 14, 1915, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Norman Charles and Mary Inger Welker Bourne.
She married Eldred Russell Bacon February 7, 1934, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. After their marriage they moved to Georgetown, Idaho, where they lived for the rest of their lives.

Mary Fern served in various callings throughout her life, and enjoyed serving an extraction mission for several years, and also serving with dear friends as a ward librarian.

Mary Fern struggled with ill health the last few years of her life, but her strong will to live and do kept her going. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed their visits to see her. She will be remembered by her family as kind, loving, giving, encouraging and always praying for the best in their lives, and her home was always open to them.

Mary Fern is survived by one son, Russell Norman and Mary Lou of Moses Lake, Wash.; two daughters, Jo Anne and Eldon Schwartz of Smithfield, Utah, Bonnie Jean and James Edward Feser of Sandy, Utah; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters.
