Mrs. J. W. Duncan, Kaufman Resident Since 1913, Dies
KAUFMAN, Texas, Dec. 8 - Mrs. J. W. Duncan, 63, who had lived here since 1913, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Adams, Friday following a brief illness. A widely known landowner of Kaufman County, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Born in Cartersville, Ga. she moved to Dallas with her parents in 1900. After her marriage to the late J. W. Duncan, she she moved to Kaufman.
She is survived by a son. J. W. Duncan Jr. of Kaufman; five daughters. Mrs. Jack Adams of Kaufman and Mrs. Joe Grubbs, Mrs. T. J. Atlee, Mrs. Glen Woodruff and Mrs. W. A. Thompson, all of Dallas; a sister, Mrs James Gallaehr of Oakland. Calif, and a brother, T. C Land of Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. J. Edgar Hubbard of Lampasas officiating. Burial will be in the Kaufman Cemetery. ( Dallas Morning News, 8 Dec 1951
