He was born Aug. 25, 1925 in Huntley, Nebraska, to Horace and Marvel Lowe. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radio and sonar operator on a submarine.
He married Agnes in Orleans, Nebraska on Aug. 4, 1948.
Mr. Lowe graduated from the University of Nebraska with majors in physical education and English. He taught school and coached varsity baseball at Cajon High School in California.
He was a major league baseball scout for the Houston Colt .45s, New York Yankees, and Arizona Diamondbacks. He was the executive director of the U.S. Open Baseball Tournament. Mr. Lowe was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic Committee to help bring baseball to the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
He was a member of Carson Valley United Methodist Church.
He is survived by wife, Marjorie Richman-Lowe; sons: Keith Lowe II, of Gardnerville, Greg Lowe, of Santa Barbara, CA, Jon Lowe, of Truckee, and Jerry Lowe, of Minden; daughters: Gayle Magee, of Carson City, Patty Lowe, of Sacramento, CA; brother, Loyd Lowe, of Huntley, NE; sisters: Sheryl Hickman, of Alma, NE, Ruth Fristo, of St. Louis, MO, and Martha Ballard, of Colorado Springs, CO.
