WILMINGTON STAR NEWS August 20, 2004

Mrs. Hilda Frances Sellers Spencer, 80, of Leland, NC, died Thursday, August 19, 2004, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Genuine, humble, loving and strong are words that begin to describe Mrs. Spencer. She was a sister of 5, mother of 5, grandmother of 6, great-grandmother of 4 and cherished friend of so many more. Mrs. Spencer always found time; time for sharing, time for listening, time for nurturing and time for caring. Everything she touched became beautiful, whether it be her incredible garden she tended to or the lives that were blessed to know her.

She was born in New Hanover County, NC to the late Nash Sellers and Thetis Prevatte Sellers.

Survivors include one daughter; Anna Victoria Webb of Wilmington, four sons; Edward Everette Spencer and his wife, Brenda, Joel Sydney Spencer and his wife, Sherry, Robah Worth and his wife, Natalie and Michael Dean Spencer, all of Wilmington; two brothers; Hoyle Sellers of Leland, NC and Donald Sellers of Charlotte; three sisters, Mary Nash Lennon, Rachel Little and Beth Latham, all of Leland, NC several beloved grandchildren and their spouses and her great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2004, from 6 to 8 p. m. at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. in Oleander Memorial Gardens with Rev. Christopher Hall officiating.
