Forest E. Hensley, 82

DESOTO - Forest E. Hensley, known to all as "Fuzz", passed away Friday afternoon at Renaissance Specialty Hospital, Muncie. He was 82 years of age.

He was born on November 22, 1926 in Delaware County, where he resided all of his life. Fuzz was a millwright at Borg-Warner, Muncie, where he worked for 39 years, before retiring in 1989. He was a member of DeSoto United Methodist Church, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Eagles Lodge 231, Muncie, UAW Local 287 (former committeeman), Monroe Twp. Conservation Club, a Past Master and 50 year member of Anthony Lodge No. 171, F. & A.M., and a Past Patron of O.E.S. Teresa Chapter 237 (now Halfway Chapter). Fuzz enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family at Lake Witmer over the past 47 years.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, V. Marjorie "Maizie" Hensley; 2 sons: Michael E. Hensley, DeSoto, and Forrest W. "Mick" Hensley (wife: Roxanne), Selma; a daughter: Connie Jean Denney (husband: Dan M.), DeSoto; a brother: Gola Hensley (wife: Ruhama), Yorktown; 2 sisters-in-law: Mary Alberta Hensley, NC, and Frances Hensley, OR; 6 grandchildren: Tonia Lotz (husband: Brett), McCordsville, Michelle Lindy (husband: Rudy), OH, Trisha Hyso (husband: Steve), McCordsville, Misha Honaker (husband: Jeremy), Noblesville, Jason Rogers (wife: Crystal), Ft. Wayne, and Jericka Hensley, Muncie; 5 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Logan, Spencer, Emma, Ava, and several nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis A. and E. Gertrude Hensley; 9 brothers; 3 sisters; and his daughter-in-law, Patience Canice Hensley.

Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at DeSoto United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with Masonic rites taking place at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be sent to American Lung Association or DeSoto United Methodist Church.
