FORT DODGE - Roger A. Maxwell, 65, died Feb. 22, 2008, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

He was born Aug. 22, 1942, in Lima, Ohio, the son of Wilbert A. and Alma R. Crisenbery Maxwell. He grew up in Lima and graduated from Shawnee High School in Lima.

A longtime Fort Dodge resident, he worked in Pemberville, Ohio, moving to Greensburg, where he worked for Taylor's Texaco and Convenience Store.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964.

Survivors include: two sisters, Nora Schmidt, Fort Worth, Texas, and Sue Bishop, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Fort Dodge, with the Rev. Vernon Bogart presiding. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Howard Gotschall VFW Post No. 1714.

There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Memorials may be sent to the Roger Maxwell Memorial Fund, in care of Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City.
