She was born Feb. 16, 1918 in Brown Township, Paulding County, the daughter of Alonzo and Emma (Grimes) Williams. She graduated from Oakwood High School in 1936. She was a member of the Twin Oaks United Methodist Church in Oakwood, and also attended St. John's Catholic Church. She married Bob Park, who died in 1949. She married Richard Klein, who died in 1960. Gladys worked at the Defiance College Book Store for 34 years, retiring in 1995. She was an auxiliary volunteer at Defiance Regional Medical Center for over 10 years.
Surviving are two sons, Mike (Cathy) Klein and Mark (Barbara) Klein, both of Defiance; a sister, Joyce (Bill) Buchanan of Bellevue, Ohio; two brothers, Harold (Ruth) Williams and Carl "Abe" (Nancy) Williams, both of Oakwood; and four grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Alonzo Jr., Glen and Richard Williams; and four sisters, Grace Thrasher, Lucille Williams, Mary Ellen Copsey and Carolyn Williams.
Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, Defiance, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Burial was in Sherman Cemetery, Brown Township, Paulding County.
