This is the obituary that appeared in the Olney Daily Mail on August 25, 1977:

Maud Harper. 82, 1017 East North Ave., died last night at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at the Zirkle Funeral Home. Dr. W.A. Robinson will officiate; burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Harper was born in Calhoun Oct. 24, 1894 to Howard and Anna Wilson Nicholas.

She married Gloyd L. Harper, Nov. 1912 in Calhoun. He died Jan. 28, 1942.

For several years she worked in the housekeeping department of Richland Memorial Hospital, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Olney.

Surviving are sons:
1 - George of Flora and
2 - Lynn of Portland, Ore.;
a Daughter, Mrs. Anna M. Ohm, Olney
a Brother, Charles Nicholas, Weedman, Ill.
Sisters:
1 - Mrs. Sam (Hazel) Courtright, Olney
2 - Mrs. Frank (Thelma) Seiler, Rt. 1, Dundas
3 - Mrs. Ernest (Majorie) Barche, Olney
two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a Brother, George, and a Sister, Mrs. Grace Zerkel.

Maude married Gloyd Earl Harper on November 15, 1912 at Calhoun, Illinois.

They had 3 children -
1 - Anna Margaret Harper
2 - George Robert Harper
3 - Lynn Earl Harper

MRS GLOYD (MAUD NICHOLAS) HARPER, 82, of Olney died Wednesday evening, Augt 24, 1977, in Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, IL. Burial in Haven Hill cemetery, Olney.

Mrs. Harper was born in Calhoun, daughter of Howard and Anna Nicholas. She was a member of First United Methodist Chuch and was a former employee of Richland Memorial Hospital.

She married Gloyd Harper in 1912. He died in 1942.

Surviving are sons:
1 - George Harper of Flora
2 - Lynn Harper of Portland, Oregon
daughter:
Mrs. Anna M. Ohm of Olney

BROTHER: Charles Nicholas of Weedman
