Jonathan was the son of Moses Fish and Martha Williams. On 03DEC1747 he married Abigail Fish (daughter of Nathan Fish and Mary Burrows) and they had 4 children: Mary (b.1748), Matilda (b.1756), Lydia (b.1761) and George (b.1763). On 06SEP1781 British troops led by the notorious Benedict Arnold burnt down the town of Groton, CT. [SEE: www.fortgriswold.org/the-battle-of-groton-heights/ ] Among the America Revolution War Heros killed defending the town was Lt. Ebenezer Avery, Jr. (11558949). The gravestone of his widow, Phebe, states that she later married Lt. Jonathan Fish who was 20 years her senior.
