Martha Abbott was the illegitimate daughter of Naomi Lucinda Abbott (that later married John J. Tipton) and an unknown father. She was raised by her grandparents, Absalom and Annis (Stillwell) Abbott.

She was 1st married to Isaac W. Lequire. The marriage was very brief & there were no children born to the union.

She 2nd married on 09 Sept 1871 to William Hauk Walker. There were 7 known children of the union.
