SPRINGFIELD — A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Mohawk Community Church for Carrie Mable Gaines of Springfield. She died Jan. 16 of age-related causes at age 92. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield.

She was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Las Cruces, N.M., to Irvin and Mable Pensinger Yoast. She married Walter Watson in the 1930s in Dos Palos, Calif. They were married 50 years before he died. She moved to Lane County in 1986, where she met and married Bruce Gaines. He later died.

She was employed as a cannery worker.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Engel of Prineville and Carolyn Hill of Springfield; two stepdaughters, Margurite Dahlgren of Springfield and Evangeline Harris of Woodburn; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield.
