Exel G. Staples
Exel G. Staples, 49, Pendleton, died Thursday at his home. He had a brother in Shelby County.
Mr. Staples was born Aug. 29 1949, to James E. and Juanita P. (Chatmon) Staples in Greenville, Ky.
He worked as a union carpenter for United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 60, Indianapolis, for 28 years.
Mr. Staples attended Eastview Christian Fellowship in Mount Comfort.
He was a 1968 graduate of Hancock Central High School.
Mr. Staples is survived by a son, Jeremy S. Staples, Terre Haute; a daughter, Kristani R. Barger, Anderson; three brothers, J. Mitchell Staples, Greenfield, J. Allen Staples, Greenfield, Tim K. Staples, Morristown; two sisters, Diana K. Miller, Greenfield, Bonita S. Rutherford, Cumberland; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Erlewein Mortuary, Greenfield. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
