William was the son of Barry & Nancy (nee Meachem/Meacham) Green, born in Obion County, Tennessee. He married of Lucinda Adeline "Addie" Moore on Feb. 7, 1888 in Farmington, Missouri. He assumed charge of the McCormick Farm in 1888. In 1899 he moved the farm to Valley Forge, MO. William & Addie had seven children.
