John Weatherwax served in Co.C,2nd Michigan Cavalry during the Civil War.He entered the war as a Second Lieut.on Sept.2,1861 .(Captain,July 1,1862)He was wounded in action at Perrysville,Ky. on Oct.8,1862 and at Mossy Creek,Tenn.on Dec.29,1863.On Oct.22,1864,he was mustered out and honorably discharged.
