S. S. Darling Dies at Age Of 78 Years

The Rev. Willis J. Loar officiated at funeral services at 2 p.m. yesterday, January 9, from the Welti Funeral Parlor, Santa Rosa, for Silas Sylvester Darling of Windsor who died January 6 at his home in Windsor. Darling, 78 years old, was a native of Michigan.

A resident of Windsor for 25 years, Darling had been ill for about a year. He was a sheep shearer and operated his own business.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Caroline Darling of Windsor, and by eight children, Mrs. Violet Kershner of Santa Rosa, Mrs. Myrtle Worden of Washington State, Murray J. Darling of Woodland, Mrs. Ruby Mills of Greenwood, Mrs. Reva Shirley and Mrs. Marjorie Ward of Windsor, Mrs. Illa Bell Prosser of Placerville and Silas Silvester Darling, Jr., of Windsor, and by four brothers, Alfonzo Darling of Seattle, Guy Darling of Santa Rosa, Morell Darling and John Darling of Windsor, and by 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Shiloh Cemetery, Windsor.
