Samantha Carolyn "Sissy" Harvey, 5, the daughter of Hope Bennett and Charles Harvey of Springfield, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Funeral services honoring Samantha's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church, rural Yale, with Chris Parr officiating. Burial will be in Old St. Peter Cemetery, Newton. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the care of Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton.
Sissy was born July 20, 2003, in Robinson, the daughter of Hope Bennett and Charles Harvey.
Sissy also is survived by two brothers, Dallas and Andrew Harvey; two sisters, Rebeca Harvey and Brittany Manes; grandfathers, Ed Bennett of Robinson andStan Dhom of Newton; great-grandparents, Jim and Delores Patterson of St. Peter, Shirley Bennett of Robinson and Charles and Eva Doty of Springfield; uncles, Roy Nichols, James Bennett and T.J. Bennett; aunt, Sandra Rouse; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Evey Bennett, Royal Melvin and Carolyn Jean Harvey.
