On 12 Feb 1938, she married Laurie "Tojo" Hautala in Eveleth, Minnesota. She was a homemaker, a member of the Pioneers Club of Virginia, the Genis Golden Age Club, and the Virginia Senior Citizens, all of Virginia, Minnestota.
She was survived by two daughters, Loretta Jean Aileen (Hautala) KALLEVIG (1939- ) of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Sharon Lanette (Hautala) BENEFIELD (1944-2005) of Tifton, Georgia; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter (Ellen) Harju of rural Virginia, Minnesota; one sister, Amelia Hautala of Virginia, Minnesota; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurie M. "Tojo" Hautala (1916-1984); one infant daughter; four sisters; and five brothers.
Aileen Esther (Harju) HAUTALA was a daughter of Mattie HARJU, born 10 Jun 1866, in Nurmo, Vaasan Laani, Finland; died 3 Jul 1955, in Virginia, St. Louis County, Minnesota; and Sanna Amalia KELTAMAKI, born 12 Dec 1872, in Nurmo, Vaasan Laani, Finland; died 15 Nov 1957, in Virginia, St. Louis County, Minnesota.
Funeral services were held on Monday, 17 Apr 1989, at the Range Funeral Home in Virginia, Minnesota. The Rev. Thomas A. Peterson officiated. Burial was held in the family plot next to her husband in the Gilbert Cemetery.
