Jane Ann Burnett was born June 28, 1840 in Poughkeepsie, New York, the daughter of Gerritt Peterson Burnett & Martha Briggs Burnett. She married John Alger, son of Samuel & Clarissa Hancock Alger, on October 26, 1861 in Salt Lake City Utah. Among their children were: Mary Elizabeth, Luna Luella, Franklin Burnett, Edmund, Alonzo, Gerrett H., Clarissa and Joseph Elie Alger.
Jane died July 26, 1934 in Wellington, Utah.

PRICE- Funeral services will be conducted in the L.D.S. tabernacle at noon SUnday for Mrs. Jane Ann Burnett Alger, 94, who died at Wellington Thursday evening of infirmities incident to age. The Wallace mortuary will have charge of burial in Price City cemetery.

Mrs. Alger was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on June 28, 1840, a daughter of Garnett P. and Martha Briggs Burnett, and came to Utah with her parent in 1852. She was married in 1861 to John Alger, who died approximately 40 years ago. Mrs. Alger had been a resident of Carbon county since 1887.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Luna Luella Smith, Wellington; three sons, Frank B. Alger, Nine Mile, and Lon and G.H. Alger, Wellington; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
