He was a dutiful and obedient son, and a kind and loving brother.
He was converted in August 1910 and united with the Presbyterian Church. The greatest consolation in the dark hour of his departure was his own testimony that he was ready to go.
For more than a year he had been in ill health, and about 3 p.m. Monday December 29, 1924, his spirit took its flight into the great beyond.
All the doctors and kind friends and loved ones could do was done for his recovery, but all of no avail. His body was laid to rest beside that of his Mother, in the Rising Star Cemetery, Tuesday December 30. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. B. Weathers of Pioneer. His father, five brothers, four sisters, and hosts of relatives and friends are left to mourn his going.
To say farewell, but only for a while
