REXBURG, Idaho - William Ricks, 76, Rexburg pioneer, died Monday at the family home. He was born Step. 25, 1863, at Logan, Utah, a son of Thomas E. Ricks, who was one of the 13 original settlers of this community. The town was first named Ricksburgh, after the elder Mr. Ricks.

Mr. Ricks was married to Sarah Harris on April 14, 1886, in the Logan Temple.

Besides his widow, seven sons and daughters survive, W. A. and Henry Ricks of Rexburg, Dennis Ricks of Sugar City, Grant Ricks of Rigby, Leland Ricks and Mrs. Amy Oviatt of San Francisco, and Mrs. Kenneth Smith of Logan; three brothers, James Ricks of California, George Ricks of Parker, and Brigham Ricks of Rexburg, and 18 grandchildren.

Last rites were scheduled today at 1 p.m. in the First Ward chapel with Bishop Huch Wright officiating. Interment was to be in Rexburg Cemetery.
