Gertrude Hutchinson Bruce, 77, of Route 2, Radford, died in her home Thursday. Mrs. Bruce was a former school teacher in Giles County, a member of the Grove United Methodist Church and the Fairlawn Presbyterian Women of the Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Bruce; two daughters, Miss Shirley Bruce of Radford and Miss Mary Evelyn Bruce, New York city; a son, Robert H. Bruce, Jr. of Christiansburg, and two grandsons. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Grove United Methodist Church with Revs. James Green and W.H. Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at DeVilbiss Funeral Home.
