Peder "Ted" Boesen was born in Belle River Township on February 23, 1899 to Peder and Karon (Tofte) Boesen.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Danish Lutheran Church near Nelson and Osakis. Ted attended the Nelson school and grew to manhood in the Nelson community. He was united in marriage to Anna Paulson of Ida Township in 1930.
Ted spent 25 years working with the Douglas County Highway Department in road maintenance. He served as County Commissioner and also worked road construction throughout Minnesota. Ted lived in the Miltona community for 60 years. His interest was his Ford car. He also loved baseball, bowling and hunting.
Anna died in 1979 and Ted passed away at Bethany Home on March 7, 1992 at the age of 93.
Funeral services were held at Faith Lutheran Church of Miltona on March 11, 1992 with Rev. Kenneth Thiele officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Brakken, Norman Brakken, Lee Sandager, Ronald Paulson, David Paulson and Robert Schultz. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jeff Beulke, Clinton Mikkelson, Bill Hanson, Dan Nack, Gerard Hanson, Wayman Hanson, Ray Zunker, Paul Luedeke, Floyd Wheeler and Herbert Hartfield. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery. Arrangements with Anderson Funeral Home.
