Former Cottage Grove resident Mary Pullen, 94, died this morning, April 18, 2003, at the Plumley Rehabilitation Center in Paris.

Services will be at 2 PM Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

The Rev. Everette Porter of Atoka will officiate. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery.

Selected as pallbearers are Bart, Jon and Mark Herbison, Danny and Jimmy Stromecky and Eric Pullen.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Saturday and after noon Sunday.

Born Aug. 19, 1908, in Puryear, she was the daughter of Wylie Lardin Vickrey and Hattie Martin Vickrey, both deceased.

She was married on Oct. 20, 1934, to John Barton Pullen, who died June 4, 1967.

Mrs. Pullen was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Untied Daughters of the Confederacy and the Lions Club.

She also was a member of the Henry County Historical Society and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

She leaves three daughters: Ann (Jim) Stromecky of Huntsville, Ala., and Carol (Red) Stigall and Marian (Thomas) McWherter, both of Paris;

Two sons: Bill (June) Pullen of Cottage Grove and Carlton (Margaret) Pullen of Paris;

Thirteen grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Corinne Bowden; a sone: John Barton Pullen Jr.; and two brothers: John and Batie H. Vickrey.
