Mabel Leaton, pioneer resident of Glenwood, passed away at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon November 15. She was born November 4, 1886 at the home of her parents, Mary and Rudolph Heyting in Gilmer Valley. She was united in marriage there on August 11, 1907 to James Leaton, and resided in Glenwood since that time.

She is survived by three sons: William and Lester Leaton of Spokane; two daughters: Mary Fink of Troutlake and Esther Hylton of Washougal; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Four brothers, Madge, Elmer and Roy Heyting all of Portland, and Jesse Heyting of Honolulu, Hawaii, and two sisters, Lydia Webb of San Jose, Calif, and Myrtle Folkman of Portland, survive the deceased.

Funeral services for Mabel Leaton were held Wednesday, November 18, 2 p.m., at Gardner's Funeral Chapel in White Salmon with Rev. Homer Coulson of Husum officiating. Interment was in White Salmon.

The casket bearers were: Lee Conboy, George Hathaway, George Hettrick, Roy Feller, Max Ladiges and Jack Grubb.
