Rebecca Sue Sweet, 61, of Waycross Drive died Tuesday evening, Feb. 5, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Sweet had been a cook at the Cummins cafeteria and The Fish House. She also was an aide for Jennings County School bus drivers.

She enjoyed bingo and being with family and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Pastor Chip Bullock officiating. Calling will be from noon until service time today. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Born in Columbus Feb. 9, 1946, Mrs. Sweet was the daughter of Harvey L. and Fleda C. Stater Pittman.

She is survived by her mother, of Columbus; a daughter, Michelle (Chris) Johns of Hope; a son, Johnnie (Lori) Sweet of Scipio; a sister, Linda (Marvin) Rutan of Columbus; and grandchildren, Tylor Combest of Hope, Brian Turner of Scipio, Kyle Johns of Hope, Ashley Sweet of Scipio and Gabrielle Johns of Hope.

She was preceded in death by her father; a daughter, Wilma Jean Sweet; a son, James Darrin Sweet; and a brother, Larry Pittman.

The funeral service for Rebecca Sue Sweet, 61, of Waycross Drive, Columbus, was Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. in Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Pastor Chip Bullock officiating.

Burial followed in Garland Brook Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack and Tracy Rutan, Jeff and Larry Sweet and Mark and Charles Austerman.

Rebecca died Tuesday in her home.

Funeral service was held Thursday at Myers-Reed Chapel, Columbus, with Pastor Chip Bullock officiating. Burial was in Garland Brook Cemetery.
