Palmer E. Mitchell, 59, of Olney, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning at his home, 203 S. Wilson St.
He had been sexton at Haven Hill Cemetery for the past ten years.
Mr. Mitchell was born July 12, 1905 in Richland County, son of John and Emma (Elkins) Mitchell.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1923 to 1937, and was a member of the Congressional Christian church in Olney.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; two brothers, Don of Chicago and Bill of Hammond, Ind.; and two sisters, Miss Margaret Mitchell of Mt. Erie, and Mrs. Alberta Houchin of Hammond, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers-Rainey Funeral Home, with Rev. L.A. Earnhart officiating.
Military graveside rites will be rendered by the Olney veterans organizations.
