Julia Frances, daughter of Vincent and Sarah Wilden was born in Poweshiek County, Iowa, November 16, 1858 and departed this life at her home in Nodaway, Iowa, January 20, 1938, age 79 years, 2 months, and 4 days.
In 1877 she moved with her parents to Carroll County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to John S. Agnew, December 29, 1880. To this union was born five children, three boys and two girls, all who are living, Floyd L., R. D., Harry A., and Mrs. Loyd Bowers of Nodaway and Mrs. T. E. Johnson of Red Oak, Iowa. In 1891 the family moved from Carroll County to Adams County and have lived since there in and around Nodaway, in Adams and Montgomery Counties.
Mrs. Agnew united in membership with the Presbyterian Church in Nodaway several years ago, where she retained her membership during the years of her stay here.
She was devoted to her home and children. Besides her five children, she leaves to mourn her loss, two aged sisters, Mrs. Mary Agnew of Wichita, Kansas, and Mrs. Florence Elenhorn of Los Angeles, California, twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Presbyterian Church in Nodaway conducted by Rev. E. E. Stewart.Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery beside her husband.
