Prominent auto dealer Samuel R. Shull, 83, died April 22 at Tennessee State Veterans Home after a brief illness.

A used car dealer and a veteran of World War II, he was the son of Richard Reece and Cora Alice Tyler Shull; and was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy W. Shull; and son, Ronnie Shull.

He is survived by daughters, Sandra McGuire of McMinnville, Ga Shull and Debby Shull, both of Nashville; son, Sammy Shull of Knoxville; grandchildren, Sean Patrick McGuire of Ft. Bliss, Texas, Katherine and Mike Vaughn of Cookeville; great-grandchild, Abbey Caroline Vaughn of Cookeville; brother, Victor Shull of Orlando, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Child Advocacy Center and the Warren County Humane Society.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
