Helena E. Aylmore was the daughter of William J. and Anna (Milster) Day. She was born November 7, 1846 in Norwich, England.
She was admitted to the Washington Veterans' Home on June 20, 1932 as the widow of Reeves Aylmore, late Sgt of Company "K", 36th U. S. Infantry and Corporal of Company "M" of 1st Washington Infantry. The Spanish American War veteran had died on December 8, 1931 [should read 1922] in Bremerton, Washington. The couple married in Seattle on July 3, 1919. She received a pension on Certificate No. 968037.
Mrs. Aylmore had two children living from a prior marriage: Mrs. John Platt, World's End, Adelaide, South Australia and Mrs. Joseph Havard, Kyre Ave., Adelaide, South Australia.
She died aged 91 years, 9 months and 13 days at Washington Veterans' Home Hospital on August 20, 1938 and is buried in the Veterans' Home Cemetery.
