Longtime Kenai resident Robert ''Bob'' Jackson, 61, died May 2, 1996, at Alaska Regional Hospital. A funeral was held at Peninsula Memorial Chapel. Pastor Ben Fue officiated. A visitation was at the funeral home. Burial was in the Spruce Grove Memorial Park in Kasilof.

Mr. Jackson was born June 5, 1934, in Bellefont, Ark. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He moved to Soldotna in 1961 from New Mexico. In 1966, he moved to Kenai. Mr. Jackson worked as a self-employed mechanic and was the owner of Jackson's Sales and Service in Kenai. He enjoyed playing pool, working on cars, computers, any challenge, and being with his friends. He also loved animals. His family said, ''Bob was loved by all.'' He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruby; and his brother, Ray.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Margaret of Kenai; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kathy of California, Roger and Joanne of North Kenai, and Tim and Barbie of South Carolina; daughter, Ann Lashley of Kenai; sister, Wanda House of Soldotna; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Jessie of California and John and Roxie of Kenai; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to account 19702794, First National Bank of Alaska, Kenai branch, 11408 Kenai Spur Highway, Kenai, 99611.
