He served in the Navy in WWII in the Pacific Threatre in the Naval Air Torpedo Squadron 36. his classification at the time of his foreign service dates 02 Aug 1945 thru 23 Jan 1946 was ARM 3-C as a RADIOMAN 2ND CLASS on the ship SIBONY, There was a three man crew that flew on the TBM Torpedo Bomber plane; PILOT, REAR GUNNER and RADIOMAN (ROGER) After his return he worked at International Harvester in Springfield, Ohio until his retirement.
Roger was married to Margaret Ann Sidner,daughter of Maxwell and Vivian Schoby Sidner, 18 June 1949 at The United Methodist Church,West Jefferson,Madison Co, Ohio. They had two children to-gether, Deborah Jean and Dale Alan Boydston.
