Mrs. House was the former Jenny Gough, born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, December 7, 1871. Her family moved to Pickford when she was six years old, and they were some of the first settlers in that area. She attended Pickford and Sault schools and taught school in Sterlingville and Whitefish Point.

Jenny House was the third postmistress of Whitefish Point. She was a member of the township and school boards and was a member of the Methodist Church. Her husband Frank and a son, Harry House, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Vogt Funeral Home in Nashville, Michigan, and burial services were held in the spring in Whitefish Point.
