He was born March 4, 1914, in Latty, to Charles and Lana (Nogle). On March 4, 1937, he married Marguerite Haney in Detroit, Mich., who died Oct. 21, 1978.
He was a retired farmer.
Survivors are two sons, James of Auburn, Ind., Saumel of Kendallville, Ind.; three daughters, Lois Porter of Fort Wayne, Ind., Judith Losh, Edgerton, Jonetta Houser, Butler, Ind.; one brother, Henry of Antwerp; one sister, Dorothy Burgess, Fort Wayne, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Johnson Funeral Home in Butler, Ind. Burial was in Butler Cemetery.
