A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, in Vancouver First Church of God for Genevra Grace Erickson, who died Sept 20 of a hemorrhage at age 77.

Genevra Grace Shockey was born Jan 15, 1931, in Knoxville, Iowa. She moved to Portland in 1962, graduated from Lewis & Clark College and received a master's from Western Oregon University. She was a preschool teacher for Oregon School for the Deaf. She moved to Vancouver in 2001. In 1952, she married William Maurice Erickson.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Sheryl E. Emra, Shirley E Fackler and Sharla E. Gottschalk; son, Steven E.; sister, Carolyn J Tangeman; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Remembrances to the scholarship fund of Northwest Christian Camp for the Deaf. Arrangements by Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes.
