"Remember that tomorrow comes after the dark. You will always be in our hearts, with unconditonal love"

~I am my brotha's keeper~15 yrs soon Ronnie, NO you did not die in vain. I can now reflect back, remember how you lived life. Life's lessons your taught your little sisters: To stand on our own, to be a leader never a follower, Ronnie, I hope we are making you proud. I know you are with us, even when we stumble through life learning from our mistakes wondering what would Ronnie want us to do. The family dynamics changed, Bea and I feel so lost at times, it has been tough not having your earthly guidance As a family we miss: Your smile, your humor, your zest for life. A void that cannot be filled, the empty space in our hearts remains. ~I am my brotha's Keeper~ Ronnie 1 ~♡~ Until We Meet Again~ Lis Sis Doe✰Gurl Missing U 2 day-4 December 2010

Ronnie is my Big Brother. I refer to Ronnie in the present tense, because he will always be my Big Brother. He was murdered 1 Jan 96, a day that was supposed to be a joyful celebration. However, it took a tragic turn. My brother had a small gathering at his apartment for close friends and family only. Two uninvited guest came to the party and starting harassing my little sister. Ronnie asked then made them leave his apartment. A few hours later the two guys came back to the party and fired shot gun blasts at the balcony of my brother's apartment. My little sister was on the balcony. As soon as my brother heard the gunfire. He rushed to my lil sisters aide pushing her out of the way of the gun fire. My brother died of a shot-gun blast to the head, he died in the arms of my little sister. She also was shot, her wounds were non life threatening . Ronnie saved her life, the news articles to this day I cannot bear to read. Ronnie always, looked after us and protected us. My little sister suffers from survivors guilt and PTSD. My parents grief to this day is gut wrenching to witness. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make their heartache go away. I'm just now able to talk about his murder. I'm so full of regrets...The "what ifs" make my life a living hell I think..."what if" I was there would things have turned out different? I was station Travis AFB, CA at the time of his murder, and I was planning on going home for the Holidays, but couldn't because of the Holiday work schedule. I was planning on taking leave to celebrate his 26th B-day 18 Jan 96. The Holidays are a sad reminder for me. I still remember the phone call I got at 2:30 am "Ronnie is dead"....I passed out, I was in total shock, the life literally sucked out of me, I thought my heart would stop beating. Ronnie's funeral service was all a blur to me. However, I remember the closing of his coffin, the last time I would see my could this be? We were just on the phone talking and laughing and he was telling me about his New Year's Eve party. And I remember saying, don't worry I will be home for your birthday, I told him I loved him and that was our last conversation. Our family celebrated his 26th birthday at the cemetery. I wish well meaning friends would respect my privacy during the Holiday Season. I don't go out to New Years Eves parties. New Years is my time to reflect and pray and be thankful for what I still have and cherish the most, my family. My friends mean well, they tell me it is time that you go out and have a good-time on New Year's Eve. I politely tell them no. However, I want to ask them was your brother murdered on New Year's Eve/Day? You have NO clue how I feel....I don't want a pity party. I just want friends to understand me & don't push the issue. It is a very long and painful journey for me and my family. We each experience a different kind a grief. My mom lost her first born and only son (the sunshine of her life). My dad lost his only son and best friend. My sister and I lost our only brother, we were so close the three of us. How do you pick up the pieces and learn to
live again? Well, we don't have a choice, you learn to live with the heartache, take each day one day at a time. I feel Ronnie's presence with me at times, so I know that he is ok and still looking out for us from heaven. Ronnie- Mama, Daddy, Me and Bea- miss your smile, your zest for life, your humor, your unconditional love you showed us. I miss not being able to pick up the phone and hear your voice, you always made me laugh, gave me the best advice, your were my rock. However, most of all I miss being your "lil Sis". I LOVE YOU Ronnie-Until We Meet Again Rest Easy Big Bro.

It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday
(Cooley High-Style- G.C. Cameron)

It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday
How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
outweigh the bad.
I thought we'd get to see forever
But forever is gone away.
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
I don't know where this road.
is going to lead
All I know is where we've been
And what we've been through.
If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's worth all the pain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
