"Helene Gottsch"

Helene Gottsch, Washington, Nebr., age 78, passed away on October 3, 1952, at an
Omaha hospital.

She was born in Germany on April 8, 1874, and at the age of 16 came to this
country with her family and settled first at Davenport, Iowa, an later on they
moved to Bennington.

She was married to Benhart Gottsch on January 31, 1895. To this union nine
children were born. She and her husband moved to their present home as bride and
groom 57 years ago. They celebrated their Golden Wedding in 1945.

She was a very devoted mother, her one thought being for the comfort and safety
of her children.

Her hobby was crocheting and knitting, and she made many beautiful and useful
things for her friends and loved ones. Her hands were never idle and she kept up
an active interest in all the current happenings until a few days before her
parting.

She was a long-time member of the Royal Neighbors. She was baptized and
confirmed in her faith as a child in Germany before coming to this country.

She is survived by her husband, Benhardt(sic); 5 sons, Arthur of Elkhorn,
Charles and Glen of Bennington, Ben of Omaha, Harlan of Kennard, Nebr.; 4
daughters, Katherine of Bennington, Mabel and Bernita and Mrs. Roma Dresher of
Omaha; 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs Therese Witt of
Woodbridge, Cal., Mrs. Adele Gottsch of Omaha, brother Emil Gottsch of
Bennington.

Services were held Monday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m., at the home. Interment was at
German Cemetery.

The family requested in lieu of flowers, that donations be sent to Children's
Memorial Hospital.
