Cora L "The Hugger" Edwards, 78, was born to Ralph and Cora (O'Brian) Williams. She worked on the family farm as her dad's right hand man, which earned her the name "Jo" She left home at 14 to attend high school in Gordon, NE.
She married Lloyd Robert Edwards, who she spent 50 years with until his passing Oct. 31, 1996. Together they raised 7 children of their own and helped with over 100 foster chilren during their time together.
Cora enjoyed people, she enjoyed giving and recieving hugs. Always a smile and a hug for everyone she meet.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry and wife Sharon, Robert and wife Jan of Rapid City; Richard and wife Debbie, Clybucca, Austrailia. Four daughters, Laberta and husband Ted Schmidt, Emma and husband Donald Stewart of Rapid City, Vickie Weese of Gregory, Florence and husband Rick Simmoms of Rosemont, MN. 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; six brothers and four sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, a brother and a son-in-law.
Funeral services were held May 13, 2009 in Rapid City. Interment at Pine Lawn Memorial Park.

Funeral services for mother and daughter were held together. Interment for Laberta was at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD.
