SLATE, SHERRY LYNN August 25, 1975 - November 8, 2004
Sherry Lynn Slate of Johnston died Monday Nov. 8, 2004 near Plattesville due to an auto accident - she was 29.
She was born Aug. 25, 1975 in Ft. Smith, Ark, to Douglas Slate and Linda Reed-Slate-Reed.
Ms Slate graduated from Fort Lupta High School in 1993 and was involved in gymnastics throughout
school. She was a member of Kim & Company dance for several years.
Her kids and family were very important to her.
She was a manager for Jackson Food Store.
Ms. Slate is survived by her common-law husband of two years. Christopher Alan Callender of Johnstown; a son Jacob Andrew Kiss of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters, Jasmine Marie Kiss of Virginia Beach, VA & Emma Rose Callender of Johnstown; the couple who raised her, Floyd Slate of Commerce City and Margaret Salamanca of Fort Lupton; three brothers, Douglas "Woody" Slate of Clarence, Okla., Carl Gene Slate of Cedarville, Ark., and David Russell Slate of Carson City, Nv., also a sister Risa Ann Slate of Las Cruces, N.M. and her grandparents, Tony & Margaret Salamanca of Plattesville.
She was preceded in death by her maternal Grandparents George Wellington Reed and Virgie 'Susie' Eva Reed-Farris of Waldron, Ark.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Sat. Nov. 13 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Watenburg, Colorado A memorial service will be held at 7p.m. Friday Nov. 12 at the church. Interment will take place at Mizpah Cemetery in Plattesville. A private viewing will take place .
