Scientist. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was a Chemist for DuPont Company credited for helping invent and developing the moisture-proof cellophane a product used for photo purposes plus used for many food products. In 1923, he with the DuPont team, licensed to the DuPont Cellophane Company, the exclusive rights to its US cellophane patents, which granted to the DuPont Cellophane Company the exclusive right to make and sell in North and Central America. Later the DuPont Cellophane Company granted to La Cellophane the exclusive rights for the rest of the world the use of any cellophane patents or processes the DuPont Cellophane Company might develop. As to date, the manufacturing process, an alkaline solution of cellulose fibres are used in food packages and also used in many film products. He died at age 60 in Wilmington, Delaware.
