Jacob Franklin Keim, son of Isaac and Fanny Keim, was born in Jefferson Co., Iowa, Dec. 22, 1858, passed away at his home in Ozawkie Nov. 14, 1934, age 75 years, 10 months, 14 days. He came with his parents to Kansas when a few months old; settled in Jefferson Co. near Ozawkie, where he spent most of his life. In 1881 he was married to Elizabeth Mays, and to this union was born 3 children, Matie, who died in infancy, Elba O. and Nettie.
His wife, Elizabeth, died in 1889. Later he married to Maria M. Warner and to his union were born 2 children Alva M. and Ellen. She also preceded him in death in 1927.
He leaves to mourn his death his 2 sons, Elba O. and Alva M., of Ozawkie, 2 daughters, Mrs. Nettie Newman, Ozawkie and Mrs. Ellen Addy, Wellsville; 2 brothers, Newton Keim, New Mexico, and Ira Puderbaugh, Ozawkie; 2 sisters, Nannie Gallaway, Mulhull, Oklahoma and Caroline Hull, Holton; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of other
relatives and friends who will miss him as father, friend and counselor.
The funeral was conducted from the Church of the Brethren Friday, Nov. 16, 2 p.m. with Rev. Brammell in charge, assisted by the Rev. F. M. Auchard..
