Bessie Coates, 96, of Temple, formally of Bellmead, passed away Friday, May, 15, 2009, at Weston Inn Health Care Center in Temple. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 18, at Oakwood Cemetery.
Bessie was born in Cameron, Texas, to the late Roscoe and Rasmus (Jones) Rogers. She worked in civil service and retired in 1971.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Coates; and a son, Bobby Coates.
Survivors include three grandchildren; brother, Wolford Rogers, of Dallas; and her special niece, Bambi Hester, of Salado.
