Mrs. Alma J. Starnes, age 59, of Kansas City, MO passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 at Research Medical Center. Services will be held at 12 noon Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 at Palestine Baptist of Jesus Christ in Kansas City. A second service will be at 12 noon Saturday in the Kiker-Seale Chapel in Colorado City. Burial will follow in
the Mitchell County Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Starnes was born January 13, 1947 in Cameron, TX to Billy and Martha Rose Lewey. She had lived most of her life in the Kansas City area.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Starnes of Kansas City; 2 children, Carla J. Gunner and Billy Starnes, both of Kansas City; 5 step children; Janice Settles and Dorothy
Starnes, both of Kansas City, Astoria Elaine Starnes, Perry L. Starnes and Connie Dale Starnes, all of Los Angeles, CA; a brother and sister-in-law, Hollis and Lorraine Lewey of Kansas City; 4 sisters: Jessie Beck and Joyce Lewey, both of Kansas City, Billie Woods and husband, David of Colorado City and Shirley Armstrong of Itta Bena, MS; 34 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
