Indian Campaigns Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in Company D, 7th United States Calvary. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions on June 25-26, 1876 at the Little Big Horn River in Montana. His citation reads "Voluntarily brought water to the wounded under fire of the enemy".
