Henry and Walburga (Rohrer) Beyke moved to Ft.Recovery in 1928. They had lived in Sharpsburg previously.
They resided on Zehringer Road in the present home of Milton Bergman. Mr. Beyke and his sons were engaged in farming. The Beykes were the parents of Jacob, Leo, Mildred (Wendel), Albert, Mary (Goubeaux), Bernard, Cletus and Henry Jr.
Henry Beyke died in 1946 and Mrs. Beyke in 1955. Albert lost his life in 1943 in World War II. Mary died in 1964 and Leo in 1976. Bernard and his family still live in the area and are members of Mary Help of Christians Parish.
