Enlisted as a Private in the 7th Georgia Cavalry, Company G. Died of disease as a POW.Son of Daniel J. Blackburn and Mary Ann Miller
He came with his parents to Ware County in it's created in 1824 out of Appling County ..
He grew up here and married in 1848 Ware County to Mary Ann Cason ..

When the Civil War came , he volunteered in
Company 'B'
50th Georgia Infantry Regiment
which was a Ware County Company but was rejected by the Regiment Surgeon

On September 22, 1862 … he was accepted as a volunteer in
Company 'A'
24th Georgia Battalion Cavalry

On February 13, 1864 … he was transferred to
Company 'G'
7th Georgia Cavalry
He was captured at Louisa Court House Virginia on June 11, 1864 , but later died of Chronic diarrhea in Federal Prison in New York …
